Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys and Shihad (aka Pacifier in the northern hemisphere). Do you need another reason to go? There are plenty, but those 3 are enough to get me there.
Also, happy birthday John. You are missed. The world was better with you.

Grace Lindsay: The first email, aged 5 years 7 months, typed on my first PC that arrived the same day she did
Hello Uncle Matthew And Aunty Marie and Finn and Stella and Zoe. I hope you’re having a good time in Aumeraca .See you soon. I will be
happy to stay at wellington with You .It will be fun. I will bring
sum toys if I come Love from Grace.
Other than “you’re” she typed this herself.
I just had to explain to her that I couldn’t write as well as she could at her age. I stopped short of telling her that Daddy was a dinosaur that didn’t have a computer when he was her age. Email? What’s that?

Eric Meyer et al. has released S5 final candidate. No more PowerPoint for me
I don’t like talking to an audience while they’re trying to watch TV (some PowerPoint authors make their show so whiz-bang-neat-o).

Sorry IE5 Windows users, I’m no longer going to hack my stylesheet to suit you. You probably have bigger problems than how my site looks anyway, like that spambot that was installed by the last trojan you picked up.
Any IE5mac users that want to send me a screen shot of any layout glitches would be appreciated.

I’m not going to blog the whole conference as it has been done by Amit and on the official blog, other that a quick top 5 and bottom 5, so here goes (in no particular order).
Bottom 5
- Sydney weather
- No wireless at the venue
- Waking at 3.30 am (because I usually wake at 5.30)
OK, so there’s not 5
Top 5
- Watching someone use Jaws
- Dave Shea typing the Bright Creative CSS from scratch (he can type fast under pressure)
- Doug Bowman showing tricks of the trade
- Dean Jackson, the very funny autostenographer (we need some excuse to get him to NZ)
- John Allsopp, philosopher
I did learn: I need to learn more about design. My HTML and CSS skills and knowledge are OK, but I’m no designer.

WE04 was excellent. More to come once I get home and onto something that isn’t IE in a tacky Sydney Internet Cafe. In the mean time, read the official WE04 Blog.
