February 2005

I was thinking about John Allsopp’s presentation at WE04, talking about the internet as a media. I think that calling the internet a media is incorrect, and to use the example of TV and radio, is like saying the electromagnetic spectrum is the media. It isn’t: what we plug into it is.

TV and radio were just waiting to be invented. What the discovery of the electromagnetic spectrum did was give them something to plug into.

Where I see the big difference is that the internet allows information to go point-to-point. The advantage over the electromagnetic spectrum is that the point can be anywhere that is connected, not just withing listenning range.

In 100 years, what will be the internet’s equivalent of what TV and Radio is to the EM spectrum?

So was it good for you? Is there anyone out there that thought openning up posting to anyone was worthwhile? Did you learn anything? …see anything interesting? …gain any insights? Should it happen again?

Why did you name your blog “just like everyone else” because you don’t seem to be just like everyone else. You seem different in your own way. I think we’re all different in our own ways.

That’s as philosophical as I can get right now. I don’t feel good. Forgive me for the lack of wit in this entry.

Gosh, this week has been extremely busy and full of schtuff! I’ve had to do a project, read a friggin boring book, get ready for the book’s test, cook for a class of 20 people, go to an induction ceremony for the National Honor Society, act like a german doctor (take into consideration that I’m african-american)… This week hasn’t been fun. And… to top it all off, I can’t go out today. This SUCKS! Ohh well, it could be worse. I could’ve missed this FFAF :D Have a good Free for All Friday.

well not really just outside of the french quarter in new orleans, la i sit relaxing after a shortened work week due to president’s day and listen to the flow of the multitude of conversations around me including my wife discussing literature with her brother. here i sit trying to think of something completely different to post at each free for all site and trying to get my thoughts on the screen before the clock strikes midnight in the blogger’s world.

thanks for the FFAF,

Hi there! Welcome to the madness!

It’s always interesting to see what guest posts trickle in as it gets later into the day. Friday is, after all, the day where the brain shuts off in preparation for the weekend…

Unless, of course, it’s just me… hmm.

Happy FFAF!

I looked at my cell phone this morning and saw that I had messages. Which is weird cause I don’t remember them begin there yesterday. I had FIVE messages. Two of which were hang ups, and two of which were from people whom I’d already talked. But one. One was all sorts of drama filled. It’s all work drama so I can’t share it, but it was pretty funny. It’s all a never ending saga with this one. It’s totally not cool of me to post about it and then not share the details, I know. But I’m not cool :) I’m Luka.

I’m gonna break one of my own “rules” and post the same thing on every single blog, at least this second bit anyway. Don’t forget to check out the scavenger hunt. The clues and blogs are listed on the main page. It occurs to me that I didn’t set up a way to show your results. I figure one the FFAF is over everyone can post their results, then I’ll send out an email, and post the results – to check how many they got right. :) I think that’s the best way. Check it out peeps! :) freeforallfriday@gmail.com if you’ve any questions, comments, or concerns. OR if you just wanna yell at me for writing such stoopid hard clues :)

For this is my very first FFAF and you are lucky number 13. Go ahead you know you all want to “Ooooh and Aaaaah”! Yet what will I post? Ummm.

How about it is way to early in the morning for me to be cleaver.

Or that I am such a loser for forgetting that my mother inlaw was flying in last night to see the kids.

Or now I am stuck at work till close and she is with the kids by herself ( Need to mention that they are 4 & 2 yrs old. This is like being slowly tortured.)

Hee hee hee *evil little laugh*

Thanks for reading and visit me at Irishbreen
