Follow on from the recent ‘How not to climb a tree‘ post I present How not to ride a bike, as demonstrated by Joseph Lindsay:
- Ride along edge of drop off
- Pick spot to drop
- Let concentration lapse
- Drop front wheel over edge
- Realise that you are going to fall and it’s going to hurt
- Try in to fall on grass
- Land on concrete curb mashing fingers, hand and elbow
- Get up and ride off like nothing’s happenned (because there are people watching)
Reminds me of the time I screwed up a simple bunny-hop over a curb. Caught the back wheel, went over the handlebars, dislocated my shoulder blade. Got back up and rode off.
It wasn’t until a couple of hundred metres down the road that I got over my shame and called my dad to come and pick me up.
Ouch! Skin grows back. Dislocations can hurt forever. Luckily I have had only minor ones and very few broken bones.
Rub some dirt on it.
