(I work in an almost open-plan type office. I’m the only male in my group, one of two on the whole floor.)
I also work in a basically open plan (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pftqg/12252731/) office, where I don’t think I’ve whipsered ever.
I suppose sometimes I’ll talk less loudly than others when I don’t want to disturb other people, but that’s because I don’t want them to hear.
Not exactly the best scenario for crotch-sratching and the hanging of wall-p0rn…
If I’ve got an itch it gets scratched, but I could get fired if I hang something someone less sensitive than I objects to. Conversations about sport are a no-go area too.
