Despite the Shuffle being a fine MP3 player I’ve found the best thing about it is the iTunes software. It’s closely integrated with the player and tracks the # of times you play a given song etc. Really helps you to weed out the old cruft from your CD collection…as well as find some hidden treasures you’d forgotten about.

Not having a screen isn’t a biggie either because the iTunes software reflects your playlist order on the Shuffle. So I usually just sort by artist when downloading MP3s. That way I can stick it on sequential play and get a few tracks from my favourite band before going back the random play.

Those Apple guys are cunning buggers.
